MUSIC

My passion for music started when I was very young thanks to my very musical upbringing. My dad, Nicky James was a Country & Irish musician and he was the reason I started singing. My first time on stage was at the age of 3 when I sang 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star' during the interval at one of my Dads shows. I recorded my first song at the age of 11 which was a cover of 'Fields of Gold' by Sting. I did my first gig at the age of 16 where I was the opening act for my Uncle, Joe McShane at an Irish Bar in Chicago playing Country covers whilst I was staying with him & his family in Illinois.​

I started working in the Music Industry in the Summer of 2019 when I formed a musical duo with an acoustic guitarist and we played covers at local bars and pubs. I was also the Lead Singer in a 70s & 80s covers band for a couple of months until I decided that I wanted to focus on performing and releasing original music.

 

In the Autumn of 2019, I joined a Liverpool based Glam Pop/Rock band - GUISE as their Lead Singer. Since joining GUISE, we’ve released 7 Singles and 5 music videos as well as selling out our first headline show in less than 3 weeks. One of the singles we’ve worked on was a collaboration with American Musician, Producer and Songwriter, Moan Barrow (Brian Edward Jones).

 

In September 2020, I started studying a degree in Music Performance and Industry at Liverpool Media Academy. During my time at LMA, I have had the opportunity to perform multiple different genres including Pop, Rock, Country, Blues, Disco & Funk. I have also had the opportunity to perform at the M & S Bank Arena and The Cavern Club.

 

In December 2021, I had the opportunity to work as a session backing vocalist for X - Factor Finalist, Anthony Russell in his music video for ‘All In Your Mind’.

 

In March 2022, my band GUISE opened up for Irish & Country Musician, Nathan Carter at the Liverpool Irish Centre for a charity concert in aid of Alder Hey Children’s Hospital.

In October 2022, GUISE applied to represent Ireland in 2023's Eurovision Song Contest and we received multiple press coverage including the Liverpool Echo, Liverpool Noise, The Liverpudlian and the Armagh i.

 

We have also been played and/or interviewed on multiple radio stations and podcasts including Planet Rock,  Musical Connections, Irish in the UK and Radio Home of Rock.
